"Direct Quotation" : finding the ideas for your essay that you want to add "EXACTLY" as they are, and then explain
Citation: (name page) at the end of your "direct quotations" topic sentences - these sentences go at the beginning of the paragraphs. They answer the question: What is the connection between the information in this paragraph and the argument I make in my thesis? Or, put another way: How does this paragraph use evidence to support the claim in my thesis statement?
